Sue Santi & Jo Gaylor

Jo and Sue’s artworks complement each other as they each find different ways to connect with and explore the subtleties of their world. Using textiles, collage and paint, they find a range of techniques to refocus on the lost and discarded items of everyday life. Their work slips quietly under the surface of the known to the mysteries beneath, delving into the natural world to reveal its strata of innate beauty.

Exploring the everyday, they find subtlety and depth as they delve into the natural world and playfully invite the viewer to reconsider and review their own interface with nature. Sue’s textile pieces consider the idea of metamorphosis – the changing of one known thing to another – each of value in its own right. Jo’s acrylic and collaged pieces encourage the viewer to look beneath the surface and see the subtleties thus revealed.
Visitors will be encouraged to touch the sculptural pieces and play with the images to reform the original concepts.
